2014 has been hailed as "the first year of smart home".Whether home appliance manufacturers,the Internet giants,or those entrepreneurs who have jump thinking all bet smart home as a "grand plans" in the future.At that time,people's daily life environment such as sitting room,balcony and kitchen are endowed with a concept of "smart".This paper connects the environmental problems that people care about and people's "intimate"like smart phones with the current popular concept of "smart",and designs a phone controlled smart home system with a function of remote viewing environment parameter,home appliance equipment controlling and video monitoring by using the current widespread technology of ARM chips and Android.Firstly,this paper studies the technology of smart home system,proposes a whole system framework and analyzes the key technologies involved.Then chooses the S5PV210 processor based on ARM Cortex-A8 architecture and Android4.0 system as the hardware and software of the smart home control platform,respectively.The local equipment communication mode of the system is Wi-Fi.The design of the proposed smart home system is divided into hardware design and software develop.The hardware is consist of three parts:multi-function environment monitor,intelligent socket and smart home control platform.A latest single chip of TI,called CC3200 SimpleLink Wi-Fi,is selected as the master control chip of the multi-function environment monitor and intelligent socket Wi-Fi solution.The DHT11,BH1750,UVM-30 MQ-2 and DSM501 sensors are used to collect temperature,humidity,illumination intensity,ultraviolet index,the concentration of the smoke and dust particle number,respectively.The smart home control platform is supported by the Smart210 core plate with S5PV210 and a video monitoring equipment with an USB camera.Also,the Ethernet,Wi-Fi and 3G network card are added to communicate with external network.The system software is mainly consist of two parts,ARM programming related to hardware and the Android application programming design which is independent of the hardware design.ARM programming includes two parts,the CC3200 microcontroller ARM Cortex-M4 programming and S5PV210 processor driver transplant based on ARM Cortex-A8 architecture,respectively.While the Android application programming mainly includes the smart home control platform application and intelligent mobile terminal application programming that involves the Android user interface design,Wi-Fi communication,HttpClient,SQLite database design,text messaging and camera data collection.In order to improve the efficiency of the Wi-Fi data transmission,this paper proposed a data compression algorithm of LZW,and realizes the LZW algorithm in the programming.Finally,this paper tests the hardware and software of the designed three parts which including the multi-function environment monitor,intelligent socket and smart home control platform.The measured results show that the design of smart home system can work normally,and gets the function of remote view environment parameters,the control of home appliances and video monitoring through a smart phone.
