As one of the most important means of transportation for the development of the world economy,the vessel has a huge energy consumption,and the recovery of the remaining heat is widely concerned.As a kind of green energy technology,semiconductor thermoelectric power generation(TEG)has a unique advantage in low grade heat energy utilization,and takes on the superiority of no pollution,no noise,reliable performance etc.This paper puts forward a temperature difference power generator based on heat pipe to save the vessel's energy,and the process of waste heat's utilization under the vessel actual condition is simulated on basis of verifying the correctness of the simulation method.Firstly,design the experimental model of temperature difference power generation based on heat pipe,and then simulate the flow and heat transfer within the experimental device by CFD software.It turns out that the influence of the heat pipe on flue's back pressure is within the allowable range,and the temperature of gas drops by 72K after it flows through the experimental device with a length of 1.5 m,the average temperature of the thermoelectric power generation's hot side and cold side is 479K and 313K,and the output power is 2.74KW in theory.Then,built a platform and carry out an experimental study according to the structural parameters determined by numerical simulation,and the correctness of the simulation method is verified after comparing the experimental data and the numerical simulation results.Finally,based on the previous simulation,the utilization of waste heat by thermoelectric generator employing heat pipe is simulated under the actual condition for the Yukun MAN B&W 6S35MC diesel engine.The results show that the temperature of gas reduced by 20K after flowing through 1.2m device with the inlet temperature is 673K,and the temperature difference between the cold side and hot side of the thermoelectric generator is 179K,the total power of the generator is about 11.96KW in theory,which verifies the feasibility of thermoelectric generator based on heat pipe in practical application.
