With the development of smart grid theory and the rapid popularity of intelligent substation,a large number of new technologies are being used in today’s power grid.Nowadays the new-built intelligent substations are totally different from the traditional substation.So it is necessary to develop a simulation system,which is suitable for smart substations,for training and researching.A new hybrid simulation technology for intelligent substation simulation is proposed in this paper.The characteristics of this technology are as follows.The substation primary system,which is costly and dangerous,but updating slowly,is realized by computer software.And the substation secondary system,which is used by substation workers every day,but updating rapidly,is realized by real physical equipment.By using this technology,the smart substation simulation system can best balance the demand between lower cost and scalability.Power companies can use this technology to quickly tran out a large number of experienced smart substation workers.Based on the conventional composition and the working principle of 220kV substations,as well as the demand of substation simulation,a 220kV substation primary system prototype is designed in this paper.According to this primary system design,a support module for substation simulation is completed.This module realizes functions such as substation topology analysis,power flow calculation,relay protection equipment simulation,main transformer overload alarm and on-load operating disconnecting switch accident detection.It also provides a simple substation control center as a human-computer interaction interface.In order to enhance the immersing experience of the simulation system,a 3D simulation scene of the substation is built by using the OSG engine.The linkage between the 3D models in the substation 3D simulation scene and the data models in the substation simulation support module is also realized in this paper.Through using the IEC 61850 protocol transfer device,the communication problem between the substation simulation support module and the real intelligent substation secondary equipment is solved.By using the libIEC61850 class library,the communication interface of the substation simulation support module is developed.This interface realizes the intercommunication between the hardware and the software of the hybrid simulation system.The 220kV intelligent substation hybrid simulation system developed in this paper provides a new idea for intelligent substation simulation,and has important values in engineering application.
