Small and medium caliber naval gun weapon system is an important means of ship terminal defense, which is valued by more and more navy all over the world. Because the warhead will be in complex force conditions during the flight, we have to study the aerodynamic characteristics of the warhead in the early stage of missile design and final phase test of shooting ranges. The altitude is different, especially for air defense warhead, Standard atmospheric parameters are also different. Erstwhile test, engineering algorithm and other methods is diffcult for reseaching the influence on aerodynamic characteristics of pressure,density,viscosity coefficient and other parameters .This paper, based on antiaircraft warhead went for the naval gun, aim at researching on aerodynamic characteristics of warhead in the exterior ballistic motion process.At first, This paper study Similarity criteria of the warhead and the model warhead ,through the analysis of fluid flow and the control equation of the computational fluid dynamics,by using the principle of similarity. Secondly, this paper study on the influence factors of atmospheric pressure,density,viscosity,maher number and attack angle of the drag coefficient, lift coefficient and pitching moment coefficient of aerodynamic coefficient by using FLUENT software for numerical simulation of the warhead.Thirdly,this paper design uniform test plan and carry out numerical simulation by using dimensional analysis method to obtain the mathematical expressions of resistance, lift and pitching moment .At last ,this paper calculate exterior ballistic elements in different heights by using exterior ballistic calculation software and use numerical simulation to study the aerodynamic characteristics of the warhead during the flight with atmospheric parameters such as pressure, atmospheric density, viscosity coefficient and so on.
