The intersection priority control of trams is the key to ensure the tram rapid transit and improve passengers’ comfort.Priority control gives more access rights to the trams,while the efficiency of the vehicle at intersection is often reduced,causing queuing congestion.At present,the commmon priority strategies have their own characteristics and application scenarios,and it is difficult to judge their applicability in the specific implementation process.Traffic simulation technology can be used to reproduce the traffic flow regularity,and carry out simulation evaluation of the implementation program,given the quantitative data for the user’s decision.The traffic simulation can be applied to the intersection of trams,which can prejudge the effect of the implementation of the priority strategy,so as to guide more effective management control and improve the efficiency of the intersection.In this paper,the influencing factors of the tram crossing are analyzed,including vehicle performance,road form,track layout and so on.In VISSIM modeling process,these factors will be reflected by the simulation parameters and network layout.Then introduce the classification of signal priority strategies and the composition of the intersection signal control system.The implementation process of non-priority,absolute priority,relative priority and single point balance control strategy are analyzed.Then the modeling of intersection road network in VISSIM is realized,and the modularization method is used in the process of signal logic implementation so that the signal control logic of each track layout at the intersection can be realized by different processing modules in a series way.Finally,the secondary development based on VISSIM COM interface is realized,provides a user interface for custom simulation parameters,and provides a visual evaluation of the results and summary reports.After analyzing the evaluation results of each strategy,conclude that single point balance strategy can be used to balance the tram priority and the traffic congestion.The strategy will guarantee the minimum access rights of road traffic and give the tram of large passenger flow more opportunities to prevail.
