With the rapid development of urban road traffic,traffic congestion is becoming more and more serious,and the use of advanced traffic guidance system can effectively alleviate traffic congestion.Among them,VMS(Variable Message Signs)is attracting more and more attention.However,most of China’s VMS layout system is not yet mature,most of the laying process to rely on the experience of managers,the lack of reliable use of support,resulting in a waste of VMS.How to properly lay out VMS is a problem that needs to be solved.In this paper,the problem of site selection of variable information signs is systematically studied.The main contents are as follows:Firstly,it analyzes the research background of variable information mark and the research status quo at home and abroad,and then studies the target of variable information sign,the influencing factors and the principle of laying out.Secondly,through the establishment of VMS location model based on mathematical programming,the genetic algorithm is used to solve the problem of maximizing the effective information,and the sections of VMS are obtained,and the example of Zibo city area network is analyzed.At the same time,in order to comprehensively consider some qualitative classification factors,this paper builds a comprehensive evaluation index system based on the fuzzy decision theory,puts forward the fuzzy decision-making method of VMS,gives the corresponding algorithm flow and makes an example of Zibo city area network analysis.Finally,in order to determine the specific position of the VMS in the layout of the road section,the paper also makes a detailed analysis of the influence factors of the VMS front distance,and establishes the pre-distance distance model based on the driver’s response to the VMS information,The upper and lower thresholds of VMS are given in the example analysis.
