As the traffic more and more heavy,the normal asphalt surface can't meet the requirement of people.The modified asphalt is widely used because of its good performance.DCLR is a substance which is similar to TLA in properties,so it may can replace the natural lake asphalt to prepare modified asphalt at a significantly less consumption than TLA.DCLR used as asphalt modifier,it can not only make full use of the liquefaction residues but also can solve the environmental problem.The asphalt was modified by the three fractions of direct coal liquefaction residue,respectively,which are hexane soluble(HS),toluene soluble(A)and tetrahydrofuran soluble(PA).The conclusion is that:when the content HS is 1%and A is 4%of the modified asphalt performance conforms to the United States ASTM D5710 40-55 penetration level standard.But the addition of PA into asphalt could obviously reduce the performance of ductility and it can't meet the United States ASTM D5710 40-55 penetration level standard.In addition,choose four model compounds(dodecane?eicosane?naphthalene pyrene)as asphalt modifier.The modified asphalt decrease in penetration and ductility at first then increase,softening point increase first then decrease.Characterizations of modified asphalt and DCLR were performed by the means of TG-FTIR,FTIR and fluorescence microscope.Trend of the weight loss and weight loss rate curve of modified asphalt and the asphalt are almost the same,and the weightlessness rate of those modified asphalt is decreasing compared with asphalt but the difference is not obvious.The involvement of modifiers have stretching vibration at 3500-4000 cm-1,H2O is proved in pyrolysis gas,at 3015 cm-1 is the vibration peak of methane,2290-2400 cm-1 is the vibration absorption peak of CO2.And the peak of CO2 at modified asphalt were larger than the peak intensity of asphalt.Vibration absorption at 1374 cm-1 is the vibration of S=O,650-900 cm-1 representing benzene substituent significantly,the products after the pyrolysis of asphalt are mainly mixtures of aromatic hydrocarbons,alcohols and phenols.The pyrolysis gas of modified asphalt with dodecane and eicosane at 2290-2400 cm-1 the CO2 peak intensity is larger than the modified asphalt with naphthalene and pyrene.The seven kinds of modified asphalt fluorescent materials are more than asphalt because of the oily aroma in modified asphalt is increased.Based on asphalt modification experiment by the three components of DCLR after aging fluorescent materials are presented dot structure,the model compound of modified asphalt is short rod structure.The modified asphalt detected by FTIR and there are no new functional groups,come to a conclusion that the modifiers adding into asphalt is only physical reaction and no chemical occured.
