Along with the development and utilization of marine resources,the country attaches more and more importance to the construction and development of the islands.The island habitation cabin provides a basic residential place for workers.To guarantee the safety and property of personnel on the island,wind resistant performance for island habitation cabin(IHC)is facing a severe test.As a result,the improvement of the wind resistant performance of IHC becomes a key issue to be solved.This paper aims to study wind load on the surface of IHC,using numerical simulation with the characteristics of high accuracy,repeatability,and high visualization,for further optimization of the shape structure of IHC.Firstly,based on the basic requirements of IHC,three kinds of IHC shell structures are preliminarily designed.According to the similarity theory,the experimental models of IHC are built by taking the scale proportion of 1: 30,then wind tunnel experiment of six conditions for two wind directions are carried out.Secondly,the numerical simulation study for three kinds of IHC shell structure is carried on.The numerical simulation results are compared with experimental data,to verify that the numerical simulation study on surface wind load for IHC is applicability and reliability.Lastly,the distribution laws of surface wind load for three kinds of IHC shell structure along with aspect ratio,column height,eaves height,roof slope and the presence or absence of cornice,are researched by numerical simulation.Some conclusions are drawn.For van-type IHC,with the increase of aspect ratio,the wind pressure of roof born is greater,and the wind load shape coefficient is larger.With the increase of roof slope,the wind pressure of roof endured is smaller,and the wind load shape coefficient is smaller.After adding the cornice,wind performance is significantly better than no cornice situation.For stilted IHC,with the increase of column height,the wind pressure of roof born is smaller,and the wind load shape coefficient is smaller.With the increase of roof slope,the wind pressure of roof endured is smaller,and the wind load shape coefficient is smaller.After adding the cornice,wind performance is significantly better than no cornice situation.For cylindrical IHC,with the increase of eaves height,the wind pressure of roof born is larger,and the wind load shape coefficient is greater.With the increase of roof slope,the wind pressure of roof endured is smaller,and the wind load shape coefficient is smaller.After adding the cornice,wind performance is significantly worse than no cornice situation.
