Public transport has become a prevalent travel mode due to its economic and environmental characteristics.It can efficiently alleviate road pressure avoiding traffic congestion.However,with the blossom of urbanization,the existing public transport service cannot cover an increasing new communities,leading to individuals inconvenient travel.Moreover,public service can hardly extend to old district because of the narrow road conditions.Although rail transportation is pretty fast,it can only provide orientation-accessibility for travelers resulting in a long "last mile".Microcirculation-Bus(MB)as the capillary of public transportation system can service community deply due to its flexibility,which can fill the blind area and transship passengers from rail transit providing short distance public transport service,which can efficiently solve the long "last mile" problem.Therefore,it has a high practical value.This paper firstly introduces the principle of transportation microcirculation.Then,the concept of microcirculation-bus is proposed based on that principle.After that,MB is classified according to different route characteristics.Later,the similarities and differences between MB and normal bus as well as public bicycle are compared,successively,which highlights the advantages of MB.Then,the development mode is briefly introduced.Afterwards,travel demand characteristics is analysed based on the data of 10 running MB lines.Demand forecasting is not discussed until the influencing factors analysis has completed.Subsequently,the operation status of 10 lines is summarized.Furthermore,under the premise of clarifying the principle and goal of route planning,the paper discusses the station set and analyzes its optimal average station distance in detail.Moreover,the transshipped MB is classifies into three types based on the connection form between MB and metro.The dot-line connection transshipped MB is taken to apply bi-level programming for line design with the purpose of simultaneously considering different stakeholders.It is important to transform real network into topology network to apply genetic algorithm to solve the model.Lastly,XiaoShiCheng Area,Suzhou is taken as a typical example to apply the model,and development strategies will be proposed from government and operating company angles.
