Computer Aided Process Planning

Computer Aided Process Planning(CAPP)is an important component of the Computer Integrated Manufacturing Systems(CIMS).Due to the important position of the entire manufacturing process,CAPP has been an important area of the research in modern manufacturing technology.The project comes from a large-scale military enterprise,which undertakes a large number of mechanical parts design and manufacturing tasks.The design and management of technological procedures are directly related to the company's production scheduling and product quality.However,due to the various parts and their different size and processes,drawing the related technology processing pictures turns to an exceptionally heavy task.In this context,the enterprise urgently need a process knowledge accumulated method,that to enhance the level of process design and improve the efficiency of the preparation process.In this way,workers can free from a lot of duplicated work,production cycle will get shorter,and labor efficiency will be improved.Based on the analysis of the domestic,relevant international research and development on the current situation,we develop the corresponding function module.With the actual needs of the enterprise,we introduce a part of the module design proposal.On the basis of analyzing planetary gears' characteristic,we adopt the feature form description and parameterization modeling.In order to describe planetary gear's drawing,we use hierarchical extraction,feature decomposition method.The property of all elements is classified as the basic point,line,arc,etc.Through the knowledge base and graphic parameter feature library,we achieve dimension calculation,and complete the process drawing.Finally,combined with the process cards format and display requirements,the automation edit of process cards is achieved.Compared with the process drawings generated by process designer,the process drawings generated by the system meet the needs of the enterprise.this project will improve the efficiency of production,promote the accumulation of excellent craft and lay a good foundation for the lean management.
