As an unusual and unique underwater glider,the disk type underwater glider has a symmetrical dish shape.The underwater glider has many advantages,such as low energy consumption and high endurance,so it can do a long and wide range of movement in the working area.At the same time,it not only can realize spiral turning motion as usual underwater glider,but also can do omnidirectional motion with strong flexibility.Because this type of underwater glider has the advantages of a variety of conventional underwater gliders,the development and application prospects of dish underwater gliders are very impressive.Shell glider disk type underwater glider as the most important part of the most basic,it can protect the equipment normal operation;the pressure hull structure stability and strength is good or bad,will directly affect the entire glider can work normally.In this paper,a prototype of a disk underwater glider designed by the team is studied.The stability of the pressure hull and the residual strength under the scallop defect are taken as the research contents.The main tasks are as follows:(1)the structure and material characteristics of the pressure hull are studied and compared with the pressure hull of the conventional underwater glider.The advantages of the pressure hull shape and material selection are explained.(2)the minimum wall thickness of the pressure hull in the range of working water depth is given according to the relevant regulations of the submerged cone in the CCS submersible specification.(3)using finite element analysis software ANSYS to analyze the linear buckling analysis and nonlinear buckling stability analysis of pressure hull,the results with the standard method of comparative analysis,the applicability of the provisions of the relevant CCS are conical in shape of submarine pressure hull specification for circular disc.(4)according to the characteristics of the glider working cycle longer,easy to have the scallop under water,the residual strength analysis of pressure hull under the influence of scallop,scallop defects of various parameters on the ultimate strength of hull,affect the formula of each defect parameters,finally a regression formula by using Matlab software,and the finite element the accuracy of verification,empirical formulas about scallop parameters are given on the basis of it.
