China is one of the countries with the largest number of blind people in the world, according to the global data on visual impairments by the World Health Organization in 2010,the number of blind people in the world has reached 39.365 million, while the number of blind people in our country accounted for 20.9%,reached 8.248 million. The blind group has become a group that can not be ignored in the society. With more and more social concerns given to the blind group, products designed for the blind in the market continue to emerge. But there are still many products which can not guide and help blind people to adapt to the ever-changing products due to the inappropriate human-machine interface, which forces the blind to sacrifice their experience to cater to the products that are not convenient for their use,so they can not enjoy the convenience that modern society has brought about. In such a condition,it seems increasingly necessary to improve the current design of the blind products through the research of the design method of human-machine interface in the blind products. This paper based on relevant theories of the human-machine interface and the investigation into current products for the blind, and through the analysis of the physical and mental characteristics of the blind and their recognition habits, summed up the general requirements of the blind for the design of human-machine interface. It finally arrived at the basic design principles and implementation methods of the human-machine interface in the products for the blind, and explored the feasibility of the principles and methods through a specific design practice.
