In recent years,due to the global oil energy crisis,oil’s price continues to go up.The voice of protecting environment is stronger and stronger and more and more scholars pay attention to the harm of lubricant to the environment.For the aiming to reduce environmental pollution and improve ecological efficiency of lubricants,lots of interests have been focused on the environmental friendly lubricating additives for a reasonable balance of tribological performance and ecological efficiency.The leaf surface wax from three kinds of arbor species(Ginkgo,Sabina przewalskii,Cinnamomum camphora)and three shrubs(Climbing cypress,Ammopiptanthus mongolicus,Euonymus mongolicus)used as additives,synthetic ester as based oil,polytetrafluoroethylene grease as based grease,GC-MS was applied to analyze the main components of the wax in these plant leaves.The tribological properties of waxy materials on steel-aluminum and steel-steel tribo-pairs were evaluated by high-speed reciprocating friction and wear tester.The surface morphology of the wear scar was observed by scanning electron microscope and the mass of anion and cation on the surface of wear scar was analyzed by using time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry.The results show:1.The main components of the leaf surface wax of six plants were analyzed by GC-MS.It was found that there were a lot of fatty alcohols,a small amount of fatty acids and fatty esters in the waxy extract of plant leaves.2.The results showed that wax additives extracted from Ginkgo biloba,Climbing Sabina chinensis and Sabina chinensis,exhibited good anti-friction and anti-wear properties on steel-aluminum and steel-steel friction pairs as the lubricating oil additive and grease additive.3.The TOF-SIMS analysis showed that the chemical tribofilm,which was formed form reaction between the anion adhered on the worn surface and aluminum,played a role in lubrication.4.ANSYS was used to simulate the wear process and analyze the stress distribution of the contact area,speculate the process of aluminum block wear.
