With the increase of population and environmental pressure in the world,how to save energy and reduce losses and emissions is an important issue for all countries.The development of smart grid is of great significance to the security,reliable and efficient operation of power grids,energy-saving emission reduction and the development of related industries.The existing intelligent substation has realized the total station digital information,the communication network platform,the information sharing standardization,the high level application interaction,which reflected the level of operation and maintenance and the security reliability of the substation.However,there is still a gap between the overall level of smart substation and the requirements of building a world-class power grid.Therefore,State Grid Corporation proposed the goal of building a new generation of smart substation.In this background,a scheme of design a new generation intelligent substation is proposed,which can provide reference for the construction of a new generation intelligent substation in the future.In this paper,the basic theory of intelligent substation is introduced,and the background,main categories and typical characteristics of smart grid are expounded,which leads to the necessity of building intelligent substation.Then the paper analyzed the achievements and shortcomings of intelligent substation construction at the present stage,and pointed out the necessity of building a new generation of intelligent substation.Then,a detailed solution is given from six aspects: hierarchical protection,intelligent primary equipment,intelligent secondary equipment,substation layout optimization and reactive power optimization.Finally,according to the actual situation of Beijing Power Grid and the future city,a new generation intelligent substation is designed in detail.The cross-sectional area of conductor is determined by the power flow calculation and the stability check is carried out.The main transformer impedance and current limiting reactor are determined by short-circuit current calculation.The bus model is determined by the maximum load current under overload conditions in the normal operation.The main transformer and main connection are designed in detail in the primary equipment of the station,and other main equipments are determined by short circuit current and working current.According to the requirements of hierarchical protection and control of the new generation intelligent substation,the hierarchical protection control system and the protection configuration scheme of each component are designed.Besides,the station telecontrol information and equipment,energy metering configuration and secondary system security configuration are designed in detail.Finally,the investment and energy saving of the design scheme are analyzed.This design meets the demand of power supply in the future science and technology city,it can not only strengthen the grid structure with the north of the city-Shunyi-Chaoyang,but also helps to improve the reliability of the power grid in the north area of Beijing and alleviate the tension of the power supply point in the future city area.
