Absolute position coding sensor based on absolute coding and decoding theory obtains the absolute position by identifying the encoding information of the current position. It can directly obtain the current absolute position value after power on,which simplifies the control system and improves the processing efficiency and reliability.Firstly, based on the general coding methods of the absolute coding sensor,a new one is proposed which can be used for absolute coding sensor with large range and single channel.Compared with the traditional coding methods,it is good for the miniaturization and simplification of the absolute coding sensor and the corresponding decoding principle breaks the traditional index type of decoding, effectively improves the efficiency of decoding. For the new coding method, its principle and generation algorithm is specifically introduced, and also the code generation program of MATLAB is designed.Besides, decoding implementation is analyzed in detail and also the decoding program of MATLAB is designed. In addition,a system based on linear array CCD and FPGA to recognize the coding information is designed, including design of the hardware and software. It focuses on the algorithm of coding information recognition and also the way to implement with the Verilog hardware description language. What's more,a simple subdivision technique based on CCD is introduced. Finally, the coding and decoding algorithm is correctly verified by simulated on the MATLAB platform. The algorithm of coding information recognition is tested on the experiment system and the factors affect the accuracy and stability of the recognition are also analyzed.
