Research On Application Of Buton Rock Asphalt In Asphalt Concrete

Buton rock asphalt(BRA)is a kind of natural asphalt.It has been attracted much attention due to good pavement performance,simple construction process and low prices.In foreign countries,BRA has a wide range of applications in highways,airport runways and bridge deck pavement.However,the extensive use of BRA in projects is still limited,and mainly roads are for testing.especially scarcely use in the north.Meanwhile,the technical specifications,evaluation criteria,construction technology and quality control of the BRA Modified Asphalt and the mixture are still in early stages.There is no complete construction norms and the evaluation system of them.Therefore,this article is in a different point of view in depth study of the BRA Modified Asphalt and its Mixture performance indexes,pavement performance,modification mechanism,to provide theoretical and practical bases for the BRA in the use of asphalt pavement engineering.Through asphalt,different contents of the BRA modified asphalt and SBS modified asphalt penetration,softening point and ductility tests that,BRA can effectively improve the temperature susceptibility,high temperature stability,water stability and low temperature cracking resistance of base asphalt.And with the increase BRA contents,the performance improvement is more obvious.The modified asphalt mixture was prepared by A-90 asphalt as matrix asphalt and BRA as admixture.The rut.soaking Marshall,freeze-thaw splitting,low temperature bending test and other methods were used to research the high-and-low temperature performance and resistance to water damaging of asphalt and to analytical the BRA content impacting on Asphalt Pavement Performance.Our research is on changing in properties and structures of the matrix asphalt modified or not.The four-component Analyze.XRD,SEM and IR methods were used for studying further in the modification process of BRA.And we reveal how to improve performance of the road asphalt BRA in the microscopic.
