With the advantage of simply improving mechanics and economic efficiency,Buton Rock Asphalt(BRA)is an excellent pavement material modifier,strongly improving the asphalt pavement characteristics,it is concerned by pavement workers in our country.increasingly However the research on BRA in China was started late,which had serious impact on its application and spreading.Thus,in order to be large-scale applied in road project,the component,and mechanism of improving,pavement characteristics and actual engineering application are needed to be further studied.Based on the applications of infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy,the method of microscopic study on BRA was improved,and a ‘gold-plated temperature Law' on the specimen gilded method was proposed,from which the ash micro-morphology of BRA was carried out.Ash-based modified mechanism research on BRA was also presented,which explained the mechanism of action between Buton rock asphalt and asphalt,and the effect of incorporation of Buton rock asphalt on the performance of asphalt is also analyzed,by four-component analysis method and rheological properties of asphalt test.Meanwhile,using asphalt laboratory tests,comparative study of basic road performance of four asphalt mixture is conducted,and with substantial projects,comparative analysis of the actual use of Buton rock asphalt and SBS modified asphalt pavement is also performed.Besides the Buton rock asphalt laboratory road was constructed for comparative analysis,in which the pavement characteristic of the road constructed by BRA and SBS at the time before served and after one year served.Research shows that: Buton rock asphalt on asphalt modification is a physical mixing dissolving process,Buton rock asphalt particles and ash particles appearance is very similar,exhibiting rough surface,drape,honeycomb has rich pores of the pore characteristics,rich in surface C,O,Mg,Ca containing both a certain amount of Si,s,Fe,Br and other active elements,and the magnetite surface exhibits a smooth,pore hole a few features and only containing Ca,O,C three elements.Buton rock asphalt and asphalt mixture,Buton rockasphalt in asphalt before mixing with the matrix asphalt,between the two is "organic-organic" mixed,with respect to the matrix asphalt and filler contact is "organic-inorganic" mix more easily,also because of Buton rock asphalt ash morphology,the asphalt more easily adsorbed on Buton rock asphalt in the interior of the ash,generate more stable,strong adsorption capacity of asphalt mortar,enhance the asphalt mixture of asphalt mastic adhesive poly and adhesion of asphalt and mineral aggregate capacity,and improve the asphalt mixture high-temperature stability and water stability.Buton rock asphalt in asphalt produced change,the asphalt content of asphalt is greatly improved,changing the morphology of asphalt colloid,improve the high temperature performance of asphalt,Buton rock asphalt modified asphalt mixture laboratory related indexes were different degree is improved,Buton rock asphalt modified asphalt pavement engineering application in various stages of testing index meet the specification requirements,the anti rutting,smooth degree is better than the SBS modified asphalt performance is more excellent.In the real engineering application made good performance.
