The Research On Modern Native Architects In Wuxi

There was a batch of wise men sprang up in the area of architecture design in Wuxi in the process of modernization in China who not only scored a great deal of achievement in architecture practice but also made an important contribution in architectural education,Chinese-western communication of architectural culture and so forth.According to the book “The modern history of philosophy: a list of important architects and architects in modern China” which wrote by Lai Delin,an Architectural historian in Tsinghua university,it lists 250 famous architects in modern China,among them 20 were born in Wuxi,about 8% of the total architects.This is an interesting cultural phenomenon to Wuxi,which was just a county with 0.45% of the total number of population in China at that time.This article attempts to rely on the background of modern Chinese social change,the common weighting factor such as the special geology of modern Wuxi,culture,economical background,through the research of their work and architectural theory,to explore the integral influence of modernization of Chinese architecture made by modern native architects in Wuxi,tease the deep level reason of the clustering of modern native architects in Wuxi.First,amounts of literature collection and systematic operation research to be the basement,to tease and research the formation and development of modern native architects in Wuxi,including the outer relevance with foreign culture and inner relevance with the development of national industry and commerce,and the research of their career track in modern Chinese society.Second,through the data collected by investigation,mapping and interview to analysis the work of modern native architects in Wuxi,from the aspects such as architectural type,style,inner space,modeling,construction to discuss the different characteristic style and the evolution track of it,and to summarize the forming reason of modern native architects in Wuxi and the cultural connotation it presented.At last,this article attempts to use the growth background of native architects,social prevailing custom and the native culture of Wuxi as the common weighting background,teases and discriminates the fragmental material to analysis the clustering reason of modern architects in Wuxi,excavates the deep level reason of job selection integral influence to modernization of Chinese architecture made by modern architects in Wuxi.
