As China's urban rail transit keeps growing, more and more rail transit lines are in the form of ground line and viaduct, and the influence of meteorological conditions on rail transit operation becomes increasingly remarkable. The existing response method of urban rail transit is mainly that the controller sets temporary speed limit according to weather conditions which are obtained through the driver observation and weather forecast. However, this method has various problems, like being incapable of precisely mastering influence levels of the weather, significantly reducing the operating efficiency and relatively lower automation. Therefore, by analyzing influences of different weather on urban rail transit, the counter measure against complex weather environment for urban rail transit is proposed. The main contents include:(1) The influence of several meteorological conditions on urban rail transit is analyzed. Considering the coupling effect of various types of weather, the concept of Level of Service of Safety (LOSS) is introduced as the measure of the influence of complex weather environment. The assessment method of the influence based on the analytic hierarchy process is put forward.(2) In order to cope with all kinds of bad weather, the Automatic Weather Response System (AWR) is constructed based on the Fully Automatic Operation System (FAO). The system automatically collects weather conditions of regions in the line and the environment around the train through the external weather sensor, sums up and uploads all kinds of weather information through the weather information summary system, and manages and analyzes the weather information through the automatic environment supervisor system and then automatically determines control measures and recommendations.(3) The existing resources of the laboratory are used to build the test environment to simulate the main functions of the AWR system in different weather scenes. The simulation results show that the AWR system can achieve the automatic distributed acquisition, centralized management analysis of weather information and determination of control measures. .Compared to the traditional methods, it can shorten the passing time of the train in bad weather. The train automatically enters the stations for shelter in extreme weather and go back in normal operation automatically when the weather turns fine, thus the operation safety and efficiency of the train are guaranteed.According to research findings, the method presented can help grasp the weather conditions and the degree of weather impact on the open-air sections of the line,enhance the operation efficiency, reduce human interference, and it is capable of supporting management of the FAO system on trains and lines under complex weather environment with good effects.
