Internet of Vehicles(IoV)is a network based on communication on vehicle-to-vehicle(V2V),vehicle-to-infrastructure(V2I),or other traffic-based communications,by obtaining and using the attributes and states of vehicles effectively,so as to provide services for a more convenient travel life.These years,the relative theory of IoV had improved much,and the technology of IoV had become more complete,but due to the lack of devices,the conviction and more study of IoV has not been operated yet.Traditional traffic simulation software can simulate vehicles and roads in city vividly,but lack communication simulation function,neither can they support the requirement of IoV research validation.In this paper,we redevelop a system based on TransModeler,one of traditional traffic simulation software,using its interfaces and modifying event handlers,simulate the V2V communication process for IoV.In this system,the traffic simulation is associated with communication function,to work as a powerful tool for IoV research validation.The paper begins with the related technical background knowledge,describes the working mechanisms of TransModeler,the way to program with it,and especially the procedure of V2V communications;Then,the requirement for the key process in V2V communications is introduced,and gives the overall description of all modules in this system;In each module,this paper introduces its structure and method,and implement the solution to each key problem,then complete the protosystem;In order to check whether the requirements of the service are addressed,it also designs and executes test cases to the key function,and verifies the serviceability of protosystem by real application case;In the end,there are summaries and future work of the system.
