In this paper,we complete the software design to verify the effectiveness and reliability of the high speed optical fiber commLunication system applied on the verification platform of spacecraft.The verification platform of communication system is a point to point digital fiber optic communication system,including the transceiver and the data processing system.The accuracy and stability of the proposed system are directly affected by the quality of the transceiver.Therefore we design a High-Speed Bit-Error-Rate-Tester(BERT)based on FPGA.The high-speed bit-error-rate instrument includes the transmitter and the receiver.The test signal and the clock of the system can be generated by the transmitter of the high-speed bit error rate tester.There are 16 test signals in the system and are sent by format of STM-16.Test signals and clocks are transported in differential transmission way.Then the terminal of the system receives the test signals and clocks and makes synchronization between the receiving data and the local data.The number of errors can be counted by comparing the collected data with the local pseudo-random data.The statistical results are transmited to the controller ARM for further processing through asynchronous serial interface(UART).This article studies the principle of the BERT and completes the design of the BERT.Then the transmitter and the receiver are simulated to verify the accuracy of the logic design.And then,under the laboratory environment,the function of modules and the performance of BERT are tested.The testing number of bit error is 222,and the bit error rate is less than 10-7.At last,the eye patterns of signal with 2.5Gbit/s are tested and the results show that the indicators of bit error in the system can meet the requirement of the project.
