In this thesis, an attempt to present Carpooling model based on shared transportation is comprehensively presented. The thesis aims to present the existing problems in the transportation systems of major cities, starting from inter-city to intra-cities considering different modes of transportation such as cars, buses, trains, and flights. In the later sections of the thesis describes the existing general solutions for the vehicle routing problems based on general network analysis. Chapter 2 focuses on Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and introductions to different network analysis algorithms and optimization methods such as Ant-colony optimization, continuous optimization, and NP optimization. In later chapters, the development of car sharing system, car sharing model, optimization model for shared service paths, and a generic model for implementation using smart phones is presented.Nowadays transportation is relatively divided into two types: public and private. The main problem contains two aspects: that the private transport undesired in the modern, cities full of traffic meanwhile the public transport is consider as out-of-date and not convenient for a people of middle class with normal income. In recent decades there is an increasing imbalance between the demand for transport services and the actual bandwidth capabilities of all transport models. There are extensive ways to meet the needs of society with the increase in volume of passengers and cargo transport. Solution to it may be by increasing the number of vehicles; and during this process this has reached its limits and leaded to road obstruction and ending up as the traffic. This article proposes a possible solution for the improvement of efficiency from each vehicle unit in private ownership with the usage of the modern technologies. The formulation of finding the carpooling route is presented with mathematical modeling. The focus here is to present an dynamic model,so as to support the driver of a car to obtain information such estimating approximate arrival time of the vehicle, calculation of shortest route, and considering the contextual limitations such as peak hours. The proposal of coefficient for traffic capacity, and estimating the length of the road by efficiency coefficient makes this work unique in transportation sharing, and carpooling model. Moreover, have some novel contribution in this respect.
