As the implementation of the China's "13th Five-Year Plan" and the development of the national economy, society has put forward higher requirements for reliability of power supply, and also, the requirement of reliable operation of high voltage switchgear is getting more and more. Strengthening the ability of fault diagnosis of high voltage switchgear can improve the self-governance ability of the micro-grid, which has a greater practical significance and practical value to the development of smart grid.Using Delphi, the rapid application development tools of Windows platform, the expert system of fault diagnosis for 10kV high voltage switchgear was designed and developed. It was tested with the operation data of 10kV high voltage switchgear in solar photovoltaic system which set at somewhere, which verify the feasibility and advantages of expert system working in fault diagnosis of micro-grid and switchgear.Combined with the experts' experience in the field of fault diagnosis of switchgear,the expert system takes the membership function of fuzzy logic theory as the main algorithm of this system, and obtains the confidence of preconditioning condition. By using MATLAB fuzzy logic toolbox, the membership degree of the fault diagnosis rules were summed up and the basic judgment rules were compiled as the main knowledge of the system knowledge base. The data acquisition system of Lower computer adopts the C8051F020 as the control chip, and MAXQ3180 as energy metering chip, and combine with DS18B20 and MQ-2 to form the monitoring terminal for the electrical and the physical state of the switchgear. This data acquisition system communicate with the computer through the RS-485 interface,and then form the entire communication network through the Ethernet.Compared with the traditional fault diagnosis system through the operation of experimental, the expert system in this thesis not only improves the monitoring range,but also proves the possibility of computer identifying complex faults. Compared with other expert systems, the design of the master interface is more friendly and vividly. Fulfilling the requirements of reliable display of the data and fault information, it is more vividly display the operating status of the switchgear, which can be said that the site switchgear was be moved into the computer screen in the control room. It reduces the waste of manpower and the circumstances of staff injuries, which happened due to failure of switchgear. Experiments show that, the expert system of fault diagnosis for high voltage switchgear get rid of the shackles of geography and time, and it basically realized the process of the computer imitate experts to diagnose fault of switchgear in the micro-grid.
