In recent years, the subway construction is growing vigorously in our country. Subway station especially the independent subway station, as an indispensable part of the subway,which has become a part of the city elements, and even markers of city landscape. As a material identification of the modern city image, which requires independent station should not only satisfy the original traffic function, but also merge with the surrounding architecture,environment and city, providing more derivative functions.However, the domestic research on the independent subway station building form is almost blank. The lack of systematic theory and perfect design strategy leads to most of the design only focus on the basic traffic function, but less attention to coordination with the surrounding architecture, environment and city integration. There arises some less coordinated station form, which is not conducive to shaping a good city image. Therefore,under the premise to ensure the station traffic function, creating economic practical beautiful subway station, at the same time coordinating natural and city environment, is a significant issue which worth exploring and solving in the construction process of independent subway station.To solve the above problems, this article went through the basic research related to independent subway station, and started research towards the independent subway station in Chengdu, summed up the analysis of the existing problems, combined with the design strategy of many domestic and foreign examples that independent station architecture aiming at the problems, combining with the analysis of "City Construction Committee and City Subway Company collecting social gathering for subway station design scheme" which with participation of the author, hoping to provide some ideas for the future architecture design of independent subway station, in order to offer better public services, and also open a window to show the city characteristics.This paper is divided into three parts, six chapters:The first part - To raise the problems (the first chapter). To expound the research background, purpose and significance of the thesis, determine the research object, define the scope of the study, and the related concepts. Then the present situation is studied, and the research contents and methods are discussed.The second part - To analyze the problems (The second to fourth chapter). To summarize the first evolution, constituent elements and basic types of the domestic independent subway station, analyze the influence of city regional types, functions and properties, material and structure on the research object. And independent station in foreign countries is analyzed, combined with independent research and analysis of the subway station in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu.The third part - To Solve the problems (The fifth to sixth chapter). To summarize the problems in the second part, combined with the characteristics of Chengdu City, the strategy of independent subway station architecture design is discussed, and combined with the collection of program to design practice in certain selected sites of Chengdu.
