Since the invention of fiber Bragg grating(FBG)in the last century,the fiber Bragg grating sensor has been developed rapidly and it has become one of the most important methods in the field of structural monitoring.With the rapid development of Chinese economy and a clear plan put forward which will focus on investment in the field of infrastructure construction in the 13 th Five-Year,civil construction and fiber grating will have more broad prospects in the field of rail transportation.However,how to break through the traditional monitoring method of distributed optical fiber grating and develop a new design of multidimensional optical fiber grating sen sor to apply in the field of structure monitoring effectively has become an important topic.This thesis studies the fiber grating sensing and monitoring technology and designs a three-dim model of the optical fiber grating sensor,puts forward a new monit oring scheme based on fiber grating sensor and designs new experiment to get the sensor's performance and make a reasonable prospect of its application in building structures.The main contents and results are as follows.Firstly,the thesis introduces a related principle and a new classification of fiber grating sensor,analyzes and discusses the mainstream application of the fiber grating sensors as well as the domestic and foreign research and development trend of fiber grating.Then it comes to the conclusion that the study of three-dim optical fiber grating sensor still stays in a relatively blank field.In this paper,the commonly used packaging methods are discussed and the conclusion is drawn that the design of this new type of fiber Bragg grating sensor has great theoretical and engineering application value.Secondly,a new type of fiber Bragg grating sensor is designed,including the design of the matrix model and the design of the fiber Bragg grating strain gauge.The new sensor can effectively measure the three-dim force,greatly expands the scope of the application of fiber grating sensors.At the same time,a set of fiber Bragg grating sensing and monitoring platform is built by using the fiber Bragg grating(FBG)to monitor equipment and sensor loading device.Besides,using ANSYS software to simulate the sensor to get the stress strain diagram.The experiment of fiber grating sensor calibration formula and using the built system is also the subject of this thesis.It is one of the good performanc e of the three-dim optical fiber grating sensor is tested by experiments and it has good application value.Finally,the application prospect of the new fiber Bragg grating sensor in the building structure is prospected.The three-dim fiber Bragg grating is also used in steel structure,such as steel truss and frame structure.In large steel bridges and towers the sensor can also play its roles.
