The course tracking is one of indispensable important equipment,that is applied to civil fishing and ships. Because of the complexity of the Marine environment, we pay more attention to the maritime safety, meanwhile, the course tracking has become the hot spot of the research. Course tracking mainly is divided into parts: one is the drawing of the case,the other is the course tracking control system. With the development of microelectronics and other high-tech, the instrument design of track is more and more intelligent. So it is important applicability and research significance to design a course tracking control system that is high integration,small size,low consumption, wide application and advantage for the system transformation and upgrade. The paper studies and designs the course tracking control system further. The original hardware platform is replaced with the new one.Firstly,the paper introduces the process and present situation about the course tracking of our country and foreign and talks respectively several kinds of traditional course tracking control system. Meanwhile, on the basis of the advantages and disadvantages about the traditional course tracking control system,we further improved. Finally, The paper design a course tracking control system based on FPGA and DSP. The paper introduces the advantage of the design in deal. This provides the basis for the whole system design.Secondly, according to the requirement and working principle of the course tracking control system, the hardware circuit and software program of the course tracking control system was designed. In the hardware circuit part, This paper design the whole hardware scheme of structure based on the functional requirements. The course tracking control system structure is divided into the FPGA system module and DSP system module. The paper detailed introduces the selection about the chip that based on the requirement of the system performance and power consumption, and then designs the circuit diagram of the hardware circuit module combing with the actual requirements and performance indicators.The paper expounds the design principle about every module. In this paper, the procedures of each function module of the FPGA is write using verilog language. The paper also simulates part function module using ModelSim software. Then, this paper introduces in detail the step of layout and wiring according to the connection of the device and the design rules of circuit board when drawing the high-speed PCB of the course tracking control system. The paper draw 6 layers PCB about the control system ,and then fabricated the full course tracking control system of the circuit board. In the software part, the paper introduce the overall structure of the software. The paper elaborates the design thought of software program about the control system ,and gives the corresponding flow chart and part source code about the program. The part also researches in deal Interpolation algorithm and Speed control algorithm which is used to drawing the fight path. The paper improves Interpolation algorithm and error processing on basis of the original. It enhances the operating rate and Interpolation accuracy of the system. In system debugging section, the paper explains and summarizes the hardware according to my process of debugging circuit. The paper lists some problems that appears the process of debugging the hardware.
