The statement of this dissertation is probing and researching on the accumulation as well as utilization of digitalisation and intellectualization for data model in ergonomics.Ergonomics has been received widespread attention around the globe, however, the current knowledge accumulation method cannot meet the requirement of modern intelligence design for shared knowledge and reuse sufficiently. To build the ergonomics knowledge representation model which is based on ontology,we focus on the theories of ergonomics, adopting ontology as the method of knowledge representation, centered on ergonomics which is targeting at researching semantic knowledge representation as its objective.Based upon the properties of ergonomics as well as the analysis of comparison between six knowledge representation methods such as semantic web, frame, ontology, etc., we select ontology as the fundamental representation method of ergonomics. Analyzing the composition of ontology, contrasting different ontology algebra, building methods, description of language and edit tools, we choose language of OWL to compile ontology through Protégé.To meet the requirement of ontology, we categorize universal knowledge of ergonomics into three classes including human factors, environment factors and equipment factors. We classify classes to three-tier structure sub-classes, building a scheme of knowledge classification for meta-ontology.Based on the scheme of knowledge classification, we represent the knowledge of ergonomics. Using T. Gruber's modeling principles, building Ergonomics Knowledge Meta Ontology (EKMO). Presenting formalized definition for EKMO and compiling through Protégé, building classes and hierarchy frameworks in the process of compiling.Analyzing properties within the domain of sub-classes, we select the knowledge of human parameters to build the domain ontology of EKMO. Enumerate the core terminology and clarify the logical relationships, complete the preparation work for building domain ontology. Draw on the experience of EKMO knowledge representation, we define the domain ontology and established its tired structure, accomplishing the properties restriction of classes and definition for individual, researching and demonstrate the query method of ontology, providing OWL code for future research. The completion of building meta-ontology and domain ontology indicate the feasibility of applying ontology to knowledge representation, which provides a technical approach for shared knowledge of ergonomics and reuse.
