In the case of other common wireless resonant and magnetic coupling methods, microwave wireless power transmission(MWPT)has a high research value with its long transmission distance and large power advantages.By the Friss formula,if the microwave wirelss powe transmission antenna with high gain, low sidelobe, high direction,it will have an important application significance in the wireless power transmission system. The microstrip antenna with simple structure and easy to manufacture become a microwave wireless power transmission system a good choice. However, the microstrip antenna has the disadvantages that low gain, high side lobe and poor direction. In this paper, the microstrip antenna is used as a cell structure to form a microstrip array antenna to improve the defects of the microstrip antenna. In addition, based on the traditional microstrip rectangular antenna,we propose a microstrip antenna with gap to improve the gain and direction. At the same time, electromagnetic metamaterials have attracted wide attention in recent years because of its singular electromagnetic properties. It has also been reported in the research of wireless power transmission,so the new metamaterial is presented in this paper, and it has great innovations in microwave wireless power transmission system. The main work of the paper is as follows:1.The research history and background of WPT,introduces the current research status of microstrip antennas and microstrip array antenna, and the application of wireless power transmission and material in wireless power transmission in the direction of development are introduced.2.In this paper, the basic theory of the antenna and the characteristic parameters of the antenna are introduced in detail. At the same time, two common theories of the array antenna are introduced. In addition, the realization principle and the basic properties of metamaterials with negative permittivity and permeability are analyzed3.The transmission line model is introduced into the model analysis of microstrip antenna, and the influence of microstrip antenna modeling and parameter analysis on the performance of microstrip antenna is analyzed by using the electromagnetic simulation software HFSS.At the same time, finished the design of the microstrip array transmitting antenna is based on the designed of microstrip antenna with gap.In addition, after the completion of the simulation, compered with the traditional microstrip array antenna for the comparative analysis of two-dimensional directional and three-dimensional gain.4.A kind of vertical incident type metamaterial as the superstrate of microstrip array antenna, and introduces the evolution from the parallel to vertical incident type metamaterial structure and tradition I-shaped structure.while the introduction of the inversion theory, verification of double negative metamaterials properties. Then the traditional I-shaped metamaterial structure is proposed for the design of a new type of I-shaped metamaterial structure, and verified when it as the covering of the microstip array antenna can improve the gain and direction.5.The model of microstrip array antenna and I-shape metamaterial was drawn by AUTO CAD,and fabricated the samples. Then we measured The center frequency of the microstrip antenna by vector network analyzer.and tested the directivity before and after loading with the MTM superstrate in microwave anechoic chamber.,verify the correctness of the proposed scheme, and analysis the reasons for the difference between the measured and simulated data.
