The radar scattering cross section can be used to represent the scattering ability of target for incident electromagnetic wave.Antenna as the main radiation source are usually loaded in the head of various aircraft.For the security concern of modern electromagnetic war,the stealth performance of aircraft has become the key factor for its survival.Effectively reduce antenna radar scattering cross section can greatly decrease the chance that target is detected by electromagnetic wave.Electromagnetic metamaterial is a kind of artificial material with special physical properties,and its special electromagnetic characteristics make that it has wide applications in the reduction of the radar scattering cross section.Based on the above reasons,the dissertation has carried on the related research on how to use electromagnetic metamaterials to reduce antenna radar scattering cross section.The research work is as follows:Firstly,the paper introduces two important characteristics of Electro-magnetic Bandgap structure:high impedance surface characteristics and in phase reflection characteristics.On this basis,we designed a new type of the EBG structure and analyzes the related structural parameters on its reflection phase band-gap.It realized the broadband RCS reduction by loading it on the waveguide slot antenna.The RCS reduction bands cover the whole work frequency band,and has a good stability of polarization.Secondly,the paper systematically studied the principle of RCS reduction based on the artificial magnetic conductor orthogonal reflective screen.We designed a low RCS orthogonal reflective screen using split-ring resonator as array unit structure of AMC reflective screen.It is realized dual-band RCS reduction in the in-band and out-of-band respectively by loading it on the waveguide slot antenna.By processing test,the measured results and simulation results have common trend of RCS reduction.Thirdly,the paper systematically studied the filtering principle of frequency selective surface and analyzed the related factors influencing the performances of frequency selective surface.On this basis,a new type of frequency selective surface has been put forward by symmetrical spiral arranging the AMC square ring structure.The slot antenna can effectively reduce the RCS in band by loading this frequency selective surface,and the measured results are identical with simulation results.
