In recent years, along with the constantly improving of wind power technology,wind power industry is developing rapidly,being the most technologically sophisticated power generation mode with commercial prospects in addition to the hydroelectric power. Explosive growth in wind power industry is asked to choose the transformer with more superior performance. Tridimensional Toroidal-Core transformer,a new generation of transformer, is necessarily introduced into wind power plant because of its unique structure and excellent performance.This thesis mainly studies on the Tridimensional Toroidal-Core transformer used in wind power plants, and then creates a combined transformer applied to specific models and engineering projects. Firstly the thesis analyzes the development of wind power industry, and then through the literature, wind power's special operation requirements for transformers are concluded,which have a guiding significance in the following design of combined transformer. Secondly, the thesis from two aspects of saving energy and material, and economics, compares a performance advantage of the stereoscopic transformer with laminated transformer in terms of the application in wind power plant. Then, by lingo software, an optimized Three-dimensional wound core model is established, through which to calculate the iron-cored sectional area of transformers under all kinds of common transformer capacities and iron-core segments. Through vertical and horizontal analysis, the most optimal iron-core segments in a given volume and the corresponding angle of the strip layout are obtained. This is the focus of these discussions in the thesis. After an optimized scheme is obtained by the application model, combined with the existing parameter calculation, a three-dimensional wound core program list is designed by the use of Excel. Next is the design of the transformer itself. Based on high voltage winding in different ways, this thesis sets two design proposals,calculates their respective data parameters, makes project schematic, and finally determines the second one is more suitable for this type of transformer after comparison in loss value,weight,technology difficulty of two schemes. This is another focused analysis in the thesis.Finally in the integrated design of the wind power plant by the use of combined transformer, the main circuit of the combined transformer and circuit diagram are made out according to the engineering situation; after analyzing three kinds of commonly used combined transformer's structures, it is concluded that the optimized L-shaped structure is more suitable for the wind power plant; more suitable for the wind far; and then make use of the box-type structure to design the cabinet and its diagram.The Tridimensional Toroidal-Core Combined Transformer designed in the thesis meets the engineering requirements of wind power plants. It will provide wind power system designers, especially wind power transm ission and distribution transformer designers reference sources.
