Particle damping technology is a passive vibration reduction technology.This technology is in a closed space in the vibrating body filled with a certain quality of particles,come through the consumption of system between the particles of the friction and impact energy,so as to achieve purpose of reducing vibration and noise.The particle damper is an additional mass type passive damper and it can increase structure damping.The technology of particle damping has been applied to many fields.Its main features are simple structure,easy operation,low price,and having good vibration control effect.In this paper,the particle damper of the coating material is studied by means of experiments based on the cantilever beam.The main work includes the following aspects:(1)A new type of particle damper,which is a particle damper with viscous-elastic material,is presented.The damping capability of the particle damper is improved by attaching a layer of viscous-elastic material to the surface of the particles.(2)In this paper,the collision process of the two particles and the energy loss of the material of the non-coating materials and the viscous-elastic coating materials are analyzed.At the same time,the application of the discrete element method in the particle damping technology is introduced.(3)Cantilever beam test rig is been build and particle damper is been designed.The fixation mode of the cantilever beam and the installation method of the particle damper are introduced.Make particles with viscous-elastic material coating.The viscous-elastic materials were polyurethane adhesive,chlorine rubber and natural rubber respectively.At the same time,the method of calculating the damping ratio of the free vibration attenuation method is introduced.(4)Under different experimental conditions,the experiment is carried out,and the data obtained from the experiment are analyzed,and the rules of the experiment are analyzed.Experiments are mainly in the case of different cantilever beam initial displacement.The influence of particle coating thickness on the damping capacity of the particle damping capacity of three different coating materials and five different particle diameters is analyzed.
