Proper preventive maintenance is necessary in order to avoid frequently occurrence of failure.Suitable maintenance policy is an important guarantee of improving availability,extending working life,ensuring safe operation and satisfying the demand of cost budget.Group maintenance and opportunistic maintenance which are two widely used preventive maintenance policies for systems have become the focus of more and more enterprises.This paper conducts a study on the group and opportunistic maintenance policy for multi-components systems.Research background,contents,status at home and abroad,as well as article structure are introduced in chapter 1.Necessary concepts and theory are presented in chapter 2,such as renewal reward theorem.Then a comparative analysis for two cost rate models is carried out in chapter 3,including a detailed parametric study on the relationships between the Weibull shape parameter as well as cost ratio and the optimal replacement age as well as the corresponding cost rate and reliability obtained from these two models.After it,the general steps of building a group maintenance policy are concluded in chapter 4.Specific operation methods in every step are described in detail.A simple clustering analysis method for maintenance management is introduced as well.A case study is included to illustrate its feasibility and effectiveness.In the case of opportunistic maintenance,a hybrid group and opportunistic replacement policy is proposed in chapter 5.A detail example is conducted to illustrate the implement of this strategy.This paper mainly gets following conclusions.New cost ratio model gets smaller optimal preventive replacement age and more stable reliability,thus has good application prospects.General steps of building a group maintenance policy include determining key components,acquiring necessary parameters,optimizing preventive replacement age of key components and grouping.Hybrid group and opportunistic replacement policy can simply and effectively decide replacement windows of each group.
