The aircraft engine is the power system of the aircraft. It is also called the heart of theairplane. Because of its process of design involves the application of multi-subject, only a few countries in the world, such as the USA, the Russian, the UK, the France and the China are able to design and manufacture the engine independently. So the manufacturing of the aircraft engine is regarded as the pearl on the crown in the industry field. It is the performance of the industrial production ability in one country.The working environment of the engine is dreadful and complex. The rotating parts are rolling at a high speed. The high pressure and temperature of the airflow will make a great influence to the intensity of the engine. So many troubles may occur in the engine working process. In order to discover and solve the problem, enhance the reliability and life span of the engine, the writer invent a knowledge base to help the system to solve the problem.At first, because of this kind of aircraft has been used for many years. The engineer has collected lots of experience about the fault information and how to solve the problem. The most common fault phenomenon can be divided into 3 kinds. This paper creates the fault tree for each of the fault(in this paper, only 3 types of faults are introduced) and create the whole aircraft engine fault tree. Because the whole aircraft engine fault tree is too complicate to understand. The paper make the tree easier by transforming the fault tree to expert knowledge.Secondly, the paper create the fault information table and design the expert knowledge system based on the acquired knowledge before. Connect the fault diagnosis system to the knowledge base. in order to make the process of inputting fault information and the operation of expert system more convenient and efficient, the paper design the detecting system of redundant knowledge.At last, the paper introduce 3 kinds of experiments about how to solve the 3 most common faults which has been talked about in the paragraph before.
