Research On Planning Of Arterial Passing City Section

Arterial highways play important roles in serving the development the cities.They help expand the space of cities,increase the radiation force of central city and boost the process of urbanization.At the same time,urbanization also brings challenge to arterial highways.For example,the expansion of city exacerbates the street problem of arterial highway and cause the decrease of capacity.In order to meet the demand of the new pattern urbanization,study on network layout of arterial highways is needed,and then the positive interactive relation between arterial highways and cities will keep going on.Firstly,the interaction mechanism of arterial highways and city development is studied.Four-stage method is used to predict the trip demand.Based on data collection and O-D survey,following steps of trip generation,trip distribution and trip assignment,the trip demand of city is forecasted.Arterial highways and city development is organism with interaction effect.Arterial highways can promote the city's economy development,influence land use patterns and guide the expansion direction.The city size,trip demand and land-use patterns in turn will influence the quantity,grade and the layout of arterial highways.Then,the functions and traffic characteristics of passing section of arterial highway are analyzed and the common passing types are reviewed.The advantages and disadvantages of passing types of ring bypass,inner passing through,straight bypass are researched,as well as the applicable conditions of each type of passing.The effects of city size and form on passing types are summarized.The evaluation index system is established from four aspects of construction feasibility,harmony with planning and transport economics to evaluate the alternatives of passing types.The fuzzy evaluation method is introduced to evaluate passing types.Then the connection between arterial passing section and urban road is also researched.The characteristics and the layout planning of connector between arterial and urban road are also involved.The advantage index method is used to plan the connector.The type of junction between the connector and urban road and arterial is studied and choice of junction type for different conditions is also recommended.Lastly,the passing section planning of arterial passing Jintan city is taken as example to further evaluate this study.The analysis and application of arterial planning,determination of passing type,connection between passing section and urban road are all conducted.
