With the rapid development of the hydropower industry, the power capacity of hydro-generator and hydro power station is contimually increased. Nowadays,the operation and monitor of hydro power station are attracted much attention.Due to the measuring points are more than three thousands for huge hydro-generator above of 700 MW and the measuring points are more than fifty thousands for the whole station, the monitoring systems for the huge hydro-generator and huge hydro power station have becomed a widely attentioned object in the monitoring system kingdom. Meanwhile, more strict stable, safe, and reliable requirements of the monitoring system are propsed for satisfing the engineering demand. Although the international company such as Alstom has successfully completed the monitoring system of left bank of Three Gorges power station, and the domestic companies as Nanjing Jingrui Automatic Control company and Beijing IWHR Technology company also have successfully completed the monitoring system for Lontan, Laxiwa and Right bank of Three Gorges power stations, it still need to complete the data processing and device controlling. Concequently, it is necessary to sort out and analyse the excellent monitoring system of the hydro-generator and the huge hydro power station,whose achievement and experience of design, structure, data processing, software achieving and application can offer significant references for the later hydro power project of our country.In this paper, the main job:(1) combining with 800 mw large unit of xiangjiaba hydropower station computer monitoring and control system engineering examples, according to the design principle of large and medium-sized hydropower station monitoring system for the construction of xiangjiaba hydropower station computer monitoring system in detail, the overall structure design and related system building are studied, especially the engineering practice, such as huge amounts of data transmission and emergency repairs the function demand.(2) based on general hydropower station monitoring system structure and design principles, and combined with the principle of xiangjiaba monitoring system architecture is analyzed, the data acquisition, processing, storage, and device control command generation, issued a detailed analysis and execution.(3) combined with practical engineering, the key of equipment operation monitoring and control process, monitoring process and emergency repairs the functions such as to carry on the design and implementation, write the relevant procedure and design the PC control interface for easy operation.(4) finally, the characteristics of computer monitoring system for giant hydropower station are summarized, and prospects the development of computer monitoring system and application prospect.
