Optimization Of User Interface Design Based On "Warm" Start Theory

In modern society,interface design can be seen everywhere,due to the need for control or manipulation,ranging from the small handheld devices like phones,IPOD and IPAD to the hi-tech science in the fields of military and aerospace.With the progress of the whole world,people are no long satisfied with the simple and coarse interface impressions,but hope to get a comfortable feeling from the devices held in hands.Thus the demands on interface are going increasingly strong.As a result,interface design is no long a simple demonstration of the appearance information,the human-machine interaction and user experience have also become the top priority concerning designers.While the users are waiting for Starting procedure,a black screen or signing the procedure code in operation is apparently improper,such as the earlier DOS operation system.Even if it is just several seconds,it is vitally important in user experience.Therefore,interface design at the starting state is necessary.To put it simply,Starting State Interface means the interface existing before entering software or system homepage.The user experience survey suggests that for most users,the first feeling of strange software,procedures or websites are from the starting state interface.The definition of new concepts---“warm” start is a kind of starting state interface which can stimulate people’s positive attitude to life and remove negative motion,and can also improve the sense of social responsibility.At the same time,illustration art has a development tendency of people-oriented with the company of emotion,which is consistent with the visual experience of interface design.Therefore,“warm” start can use illustration art for design to make sure an optimized combination.That can not only provide illustration art a more effective communication channel with audience,and can also get the digital interface more easily accepted and increase the audience’s psychological additional value of the interface subject brand.This thesis has made a brief analysis through the following parts.1)Literature review(in the first chapter).By studying the current state of interface design analyze the results and development tendency of the cooperation between “warm” starting state interface and illustration art in the new era from different subject perspective in combination with the past literature and research results.2)Briefly discuss the interface design in the new era(in the second chapter).It mainly analyzes the basic contents and classification of interface design to make pavement for the concepts of starting state interface and “warm” start.3)Discuss the definition and significance of “warm” start(in the third chapter).By researching the function of starting state interface and its user experience,it concludes the functions and representations of the starting state interface,and thus proposals the concept of “warm” start interface design.4)Propose typical cases and analyze the major styles---the application of illustration art in “warm” start(in the fourth chapter).By tracing back to the origin and development of illustration art,andusing modern BAT interface design and the author’s graduation design as examples,it finally makes a summary on the excellent social guidance of the optimization of illustration art,the comfortable user experience and its correspondence to the aesthetic and development demands in the new era.
