The trailer is the main vehicle for road freight transportation. Its quality is related to the safety of people's lives and properties. The rollover stability is a very important characteristic of the trailer active safety, which is divided into static roll stability and dynamic roll stability. Due to the frequent occurrence of trailer-rollover accidents, China has revised the relevant standards and made strict provisions on the trailer' static rollover stability. Each trailer product is required to accept the static rollover stability test before being shaped and sold.The static rollover stability test is done on a dedicated test bench. The test process needs to turn over the vehicle stably and test the limit position safely and reliably. The majority of the existing roll test benches in China cannot meet the trailer's test requirements, so the development of dedicated trailer static roll stability test system is of great significance to improve the quality of trailers and to reduce the road rollover accidents.With the trailer's roll stability test as the research objective, the paper has developed a test system for the roll stability test of full-loaded trailers through careful analysis and calculation according to the requirements of the relevant national standards and the market research results of typical trailer models based on the existing basic conditions.This paper carried out a detailed analysis of the modification of rollover stability test benches. Based on the characteristics of trailers' stability test, the test system developed is mainly composed of the tractor simulation device, the anti-skid system, the hydraulic control system, the foundation and angle measuring devices, etc.The paper optimizes the original test system of the rollover test bench and demonstrates the design of each part in detail. The test system using the two-level hydraulic control can run stably and reliably with a large lifting capacity. It can be used flexibly. The successful development of this test system is of great reference significance for the upgrading and modification of China's rollover stability test bench, providing the necessary technical support for the safety performance design of the trailer.
