Modern architecture in Chongqing(1978-1997)has few systematic studies.On the one hand,it reflects the characteristics of the times from the beginning of the reform and opening up to the Chongqing Municipality 20 years of the development of social modernization,is an important link in the historical development of local architecture in Chongqing,the development of the early Republic and contemporary architecture links;on the other hand,it also reflects the regional characteristics of the development process of modern architecture in Chongqing,is a typical modern mountainous architecture development in the mainland.In foreign countries,especially the birthplace of modernism architecture,the exploration of modern architectural heritage in Europe and its protection and utilization have gradually been recognized by scholars,and become a frontier issue in the field of architectural heritage protection.Since 1978 after the reform and opening up,the testimony of history of modern architecture as China of unprecedented scale modernization,also be regarded as a part of the architectural heritage Chinese can not be ignored,and the ancient,modern and contemporary architecture combined into the existing Chinese city historical landscape.At the same time,as the youngest building remains,it is also the easiest thing to miss.However,the value of its heritage has gradually emerged,and its research is still weak and inadequate.At present,the rise of architectural heritage protection trend,but the key lies in the ancient and modern architecture,showing the overall trend,"but in the modern architecture in an awkward position,in more danger.After the reform and opening up,Chongqing modern architecture reflects the period of Chongqing construction development times,regional characteristics,Chongqing local construction is an important link in the history of the development of Chongqing and the development of the construction of modernization of material witness has important research value and significance.In this paper,literature review,expert interviews,field research,comparative research based on the whole and the period of Chongqing modern architecture,its background and development,case,characteristics and value of the research and exploration of relatively deep and systematic.First,in Chongqing since the reform and opening up,change and influence to Chongqing Municipality during the period of social politics and economy,culture and education background of the architects and architects architectural development,in order to study on modern architecture in Chongqing is based on the development of Chongqing modern architecture was divided into six phases((1978-1989),1989-1997(start and development multiple)and blend),and analyzes the change and focus on the various stages of development.Second,the classification of typical cases of modern architecture in Chongqing.By functional classification,the development,characteristics and historical significance of various buildings are systematically analyzed.These changes from the type of construction,a reflection of the transformation of social life in the period of modernization,on the other hand,a variety of building types have their own mainstream features,it provides a theoretical basis for the research and summarize the rules of architectural features.Third,it summarizes the characteristics of environment,form,function and technology of modern architecture in Chongqing.And with characteristics of Chongqing traditional architecture,modern architecture of Chongqing contemporary architecture and the reform and opening up a bridgehead area were compared,by comparing the two aspect,we can see clearly the age and geographical characteristics of Chongqing modern architecture.Fourth,on the basis of the analysis of the existing architectural heritage evaluation system and the characteristics of modern architecture in Chongqing,combining the "building review system" and "building heritage value system",this paper establishes the system of value judgment.Through the assessment of the value of modern architecture in Chongqing,as far as possible to identify in advance of modern architecture in Chongqing unique historical value,artistic value,scientific value,cultural value,social value and use value,clear its position and significance.
