Preliminary Study On The Modernization Of Architecture Design Industry In Chongqing During The Wartime Capital Period

After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War in 1937,Chongqing was changed from an inland city to the "wartime capital" of the Republic of China.Construction activities in most parts of the country fell into a downturn,while construction activities in Chongqing gradually flourished.Architects all over China came to Chongqing with the experience accumulated through the modernization of the Chinese construction industry during the "Golden Decade".The early modernization of the Chinese construction industry managed to continue in Chongqing.This article attempts to excavate and summarize a lot of historical data about the system of architecture industry during the Republic of China period combining the research ideas in other fields,and explain it from the institutional perspective.In this way this article managed to describe the legal system and production relationship of China’s early architecture designing and improve and perfect the history of it.The main body of the full text is divided into three parts and five chapters.The first part summarizes the history of the early modernization of the Chinese construction industry before the war,discusses about the driving force behind the modernization of the construction industry and summarizes the achievements during the "Golden Decade".The second part summarizes the modernization achievements of the National Government in the construction management system and regulations during the"Wartime Capital period.It also reveals the production relationship of the construction industry,the architect registration system and the structure of the construction company through the study of legal regulations and the relevant provisions combined with the relevant records.The third part studies the differences in the concept,industry organization and social practice of artisans,civil engineers and architects.Through research,this article restores the specific process of the separation of China’s modern design industry from the traditional construction industry and the generation process of Chinese modern architects.It also provides a reference for today’s architects for responding to the era of change.
