All terrain crane is a kind of heavy crane which is designed and developed in order to lift the heavy structure.It has the characteristics of the truck crane and the cross-country crane,so which has the ability to fast transitions,and long-distance running ability,in the special section of the driving ability of the characteristics of strong.All terrain crane is widely used in wind power generator assembly and disaster relief,which has the advantages that the work space is narrow,and the site of the hoisting equipment is difficult to be installed.This paper takes a certain telescopic boom of all terrain crane as the research object.First of all,according to the structural characteristics of the main boom,the parametric finite element model of the main boom and auxiliary devices are established by using the ANSYS software parametric design language APDL.Secondly,the establishment of the mathematical model of the main boom.Under typical working conditions of main boom on the axial force of amplitude hydraulic cylinder and the pulling force of steel wire rope and a main boom tail hinge force could be obtained from mathematical model,and the predicted values are compared with the finite element model,verify the correctness of the finite element model.The main boom of the finite element analysis.The detailed information for both the stiffness and strength and modal results could be obtained from the analysis results of finite element model.According to the results of finite element analysis,dangerous working condition of main boom were determined.The structure optimization of the boom body structure with ANSYS,through the section size of the boom optimizated,the boom strength to meet the the design strength requirements,and that the boom body weight is reduced by 3.4 tons.The main boom structure design optimization scheme would provide to the designers.Finally,the auxiliary analysis software of the whole ground crane's main boom is developed,which can be used to guide the design and analysis of the structure.
