Since the reform and opening,the number of electricity demand increase year by year and the quality of electricity requirements are higher in China.In recent years,We have installed a large number of large-capacity units.Meeting the demand,but also it brings new challenges to the grid.Pumped storage units and primary frequency regulation have characteristics of starting and stopping short,adjustment large and response fast.They can work when the power grid's load sudden changes,maintaining stable operation of the power grid.Due to the development of large-scale pumped storage units in China,especially for some imported governor,there is no mature method for primary frequency regulation's test.This paper introduces the technical requirements of primary frequency regulation,describes the principle and function of primary and secondary frequency regulation,and expatiates the relevant parameters of the governor on the impact of primary frequency regulation.Then the article introduces the governor's characteristics of Guangzhou pumped storage power station,explains the different regulation between imported governor and domestic governor,analyzes the difference of primary frequency regulation test between pumped storage unit and conventional hydroelectric unit.In the face of the characteristics and problems,the equipment was optimized and the program was designed.The units carry out a detailed primary frequency regulation's test in Guangzhou pumped storage power station,and the relevant parameters were optimized.Then the parameters of the governor are measured.Based on the measured data,the least square method and the genetic algorithm are used to identify and verify the turbine and its speed control system.Based on a large number of field actual data,modeling and simulation,the work has accumulated much data for primary frequency regulation and modeling.Finally,it gives specific recommendation to primary frequency regulation's test and parameter optimization for a high-capacity large-capacity pumped storage unit when put into operation.
