Research On Microprocessor Governor For Pumped Storage Units Based On PCC

In order to meet the requirement to the quality of electricity, the pumped storage power stations are having been built in many places of the country. There are many operating modes in the reversible turbine. The transitions between the modes are frequent and complex. In China, some companies and institutes have begun the study on microprocessor-based governor for pumped storage units since 1997. But few of the products are used in application. The software package of microprocessor-based governor for pumped storage units based on PCC(Programmable Computer Controller) is developed in this dissertation. The main contents are as follows:1. On the basis of the study on the governing characteristic of pumped storage power station, Programmable Computer Controller PP41 developed by B&R Ltd is chosen as the hardware device. After proposing mathematical models and control algorithm of the governor, the hardware system structure and the software system configuration is designed, at the same time the closed loop simulation test (based on parameters of an actual pumped storage power station) of the governor linked with the PCC simulator is implemented, and the effectiveness of the governor software is confirmed.2. It is very important to deal with the complete characteristic curves of reversible pump turbines in the study of the simulator of reversible turbine and hydraulic transients in pumped storage power stations. There are some disadvantages in the existing methods. By analyzing a few transformation methods, which are often used in recent years, a new transformation method is introduced and proved to be one of the most effective.
