Design And Implementation Of A Tram Simulator For Clermont-ferrand Local Public Transport Service Provider

Virtual reality technology can create a virtual world to simulate the real-world experience.It is an interactive simulation system that established by computer for the multi-source information fusion,widely used in a variety of areas,such as medical industry,military aerospace,industrial design,education and training,traffic geography,games and entertainment etc.With the development of traffic networks,the study of virtual reality technology in the traffic driver training area has very important significance.The virtual driver training makes the training process cheaper,autonomous and secure and allows users to train specific aspects.As the preferred means of public transport in the small cities and an important mode of transport supplement in the big cities,the tramway has a huge market space.For training tram drivers,a tram driving simulation system is a safe and efficient tool that can also effectively reduce the economic burden and safety problems caused by real tram training.Through analyzing the trams of Clermont ferrand,this paper design and implement a driver training simulator for trams driver.The tram driver training simulator use the modular design and implementation,dividing into visual module,motion control module,tram driver operating module and fault injection module.They are responsible for displaying the driving view,controlling the behavior of trams,receiving the driver command and finishing the injection of sudden failure.Between each module,the system uses the socket to achieve information synchronization and communication.Considering that a tram driving simulation system should reproduce the real vehicle behavior,it must be based on experimental data of the real tram motion.A linear regression mathema tical method was applied on these data for deducing the tram motion model,which was then implemented into the tram driving simulation system.Finally,this paper does the tests of the tram driver training simulator system and proves the applicability and feasibility of this design scheme.And then it provides a good training platform to tram drivers who have now some of the realistic perceptions of driving operation.
