Forest fire is one of the most serious natural disasters and emergencies in the world. Among the forest firefighting equipment, forest fire vehicle has played a pivotal role. It can take firefighters and fire equipment to the scene of the fire quickly, and control the forest fire by itself. Although our country has had some progress in the developing of forest fire vehicle, when compared with the developed countries, our design topic always concentrated on the carrying capacity and cross-country performance, application of modern technology and new materials in fire trucks is still relatively small. The technical content, function and efficiency are lagging behind the developed countries. Therefore, it is a great significance to research and develop a multifunction forest fire vehicle.According to the design requirements of the project, we put forward the overall design conception of the multifunctional forest fire vehicle. On the basis of the technical index, the parameters of the power plant and the chassis has been selected. Then the overall design of the fire vehicle was carried out from the vehicle form, the size parameters, quality parameters, the overall arrangement of the tires and the vehicle.Based on the requirements of the overall design of the vehicle, the fire front, rear ditching device and carriage structure have been designed. According to the structure and function of the component, the structure scheme is determined, and the strength check of the components is carried out by using the finite element method. The simulation results show that the modified design meets the functional requirements and meets the requirements of strength and stiffness.At the same time we analysis the frame and the axle chassis which have been chosen. Three typical working conditions of bending, twisting and turning of the frame have been analyzed. The static analysis and modal analysis of the maximum vertical force, maximum longitudinal force and maximum lateral force condition have been carried out on the axle. Under the condition of maximum vertical force, the fatigue life of the axle has been analyzed, and the fatigue life and safety factor have been obtained, and the potential danger area has been found. The analysis results show that both the frame and the axle meet the design requirements.In this paper, the functional design of multifunction forest fire vehicle has been described, and the evaluation method for the performance of multifunction forest fire engine has been presented. Using cruise software to establish the vehicle model, carries on the analysis to the power and economy performance, then the maximum speed of the vehicle, the maximum climbing, acceleration time, and under the conditions of constant and UDC cycle 100 km fuel consumption have been obtained. Then the through performance and stable performance of the fire vehicle have been analyzed from three angles which are maximum traction force, ability to step over the ditch and rollover.The design analysis show that the research and development of multifunctional forest fire vehicle is suitable for national conditions of our country. It has high dynamic performance, through and efficient fire extinguishing performance of the overall combat capability. It provides a modern technology and equipment for our country.
