A Study On The Decorative Arts Of Temple Shengshui In Neijiang

Temple Shengshui is located in the suburb of Neijiang,which is in the southeast of Sichuan Province,known as “the first Buddhist temple in the center of Sichuan”,with rich and colorful decorative arts.The research of domestic scholars on it mainly emphasized on interpreting its cultural history,cliff inscriptions and other archaeological aspects of relics,but the research on features of building decorative arts is deficient relatively.The writer collected information about architectural and decorative arts of Temple Shengshui by ways of consulting documents,field shooting and measuring and the like to sort out and analyze these relevant researches.Firstly,this paper analyzed the spatial form evolution of Temple Shengshui's buildings from its overview of natural geography and humanity history.Secondly,analyzed its spatial ayout,technical feathers,decorative styles,excavated its decorative artistic features,and researched modeling,color,technology,aesthetic form and the like of its decorative arts.This paper analyzed features of decorative arts of Temple Shengshui to conclude its features of decorative arts,focusing on history,ethnology,religious studies,sociology,semiotics,aesthetics and other multidimensional perspectives.Based on studies,the paper deeply analyzed its features of decorative arts and the decorative characteristics of the cliff figures of Tang Dynasty and other components in it,contributing to a better understanding of cultural connotation of ancient temples in areas of Neijiang,Sichuan,and it also has an important guiding significance to a correct understanding of artistic value of Temple Shengshui's decorative arts.As an individual case of formation and evolution of Chinese Buddhist temple architectural space and decorative arts,to an extent,Temple Shengshui reflects the development characteristics of Chinese Buddhist temple architectural space a decorative arts in the corresponding.As Buddhist buildings decorated with Chinese traditional wooden architecture,Temple Shengshui has a great influence on modern cities of dating from history and digging source root of historical literature.Emphasizing on the protecting of cultural relics reflects the city cultural details and improves the city cultural level.So we must protect and develop Temple Shengshui,the ancient buildings,improve the existing protection system,manage it as a whole,and render the precious historical and cultural heritage continue gleaming and glittering in modern society.In addition,by the study and exploring of decorative arts of temples,we hope that we can integrate decorative arts concept of aesthetic Zen into modern outdoor and indoor spatial design better,richen design language and provide some theoretical references for scholars of spatial decorative arts design and other relative subjects to let it be better used into spatial design practice,and then advance the development of traditional cultural thought and decorative arts.
