Connected structure was composed of two single independent towers connected by a corridor.This kind of structure was more beautiful than the ordinary double tower,and widely used in China.However,the connected structure had a complicated structural style.The force and deformation of connected structure under seismic load was rather complex,and lateral-torsional coupling phenomenon was took place in vibration mode.Connected structure was a kind of complex high-rise building.It was necessary to study the dynamic characteristics of connected structure and the influence on two single towers by corridor under the seismic action.This thesis study on the seismic behavior analysis of twin-tower connected building based on a practical engineering in Sichuan province.The connected structure was totally 13 layers and total height was 50 m.The first floor height was 5.9 m,the second floor was 4.2m,the third floor was 3.9m and the rest layers was 3.6 m.The connected structure adopted frame shear wall structure.The shear walls were arranged at the elevators and stairwells.In addition,the independent foundation with anti-floating plates was used in the building.The truss corridor of 12 m span was established at 11 th floor and the connection form between towers and corridor was rigid connection.The finite element analysis software SAP2000 was used to establish the models of actual project for modal analysis.The natural vibration period and modal mass participating coefficient were obtained from modal analysis.The results show that modal mass participating coefficient at X and Y orientation exceeded 90%,which meet the requirements of specifications.The ratio between first order translation period and torsional period was less than 0.85,which meet the requirements of specifications.Moreover,the modal analysis of connected structure was also conducted by changing the corridor layer,location and connection mode.The response spectrum analysis of connected structure was carried out by changing the corridor layer,location and connection mode.From the model analysis,the displacement of the structure,inter-story drift ratio and inter-story shear force under various circumstances were obtained.The results showed that the corridor built at upper layers was better.The feasibility of the actual structure was proven and meet the requirements of specificationsBased on three seismic waves,the dynamic time history analysis of practical connected structure was carried out to get the structural displacement and acceleration time history curves and analyze the influence of different curves on floor acceleration and displacement.
