Product Service System Design Research For Disabilities Based On Gestural Interaction

With the continuous development of society,the status of vulnerable groups of society has been paid more and more attention.China,as the largest populous country,own the top number of disabled people in the world.However,the existing products and services cannot meet the requirements of deaf and dumb users.In this paper,we will explore the needs and expectations of Chinese deaf and mute people through observation and experience-based research.By investigating and designing,we proposed a product service system,which provides a feasible resolution for the normal communication of deaf and mute person.In this project,we use observation method and experienced-based method to investigate target users,and explore both actual and potential demands.Combining the analysis of product status and above research,we conclude the product service function,business model,UI design direction,and then result in the development and design of the product system.The design of the products for deaf users includes two parts which are the software service system and hardware device.The software partition proposes an integrated function of GPS tracking,vehicles warning,video calls,economic alarm and sign language translation,which has never existed in the market on the precedent.The hardware designing mainly takes sign language translation as well as wearing method into consideration.Based on this,this project has proposed a communicable information process,which can cyclically carry out information collection,analysis and evaluation,resolution and program execution.This provides individualized and personalized social communication service for the disabled.Not only designed the communication service system,this paper also analyzed and elaborated the suited business model as well as the related stakeholders during the design process.In addition,we made a prospect for the future extension of the product and service,met the service value network,and finally proposed a complete feasible suite of resolution for deaf-mute people’s daily life and communication.
