With the introduction and development of building information modeling technology in our country,the research and application of engineering project management based on BIM has received the attention from the academic and software vendors.Models created by BIM technology,not only contain the precise component granularity level of the geometric data,but also provide a visual display of the image,which brings new opportunities for project management.However,because of the disconnection between the project management data structure system and the BIM data structure,there are many problems to extend BIM technology in the project management.First of all,this paper discusses the disconnection between the data structure of BIM model and the data structure of project management by understanding the characteristics of BIM data structure and project management data structure.From the view of application point,this paper discusses many schemes about how to connect the BIM model with the project management data structure,and gets the best scheme through comparative analysis.Secondly,according to need of engineering project management,the application program integrates with time data and resource data to build 4D and 5D database which is related to project management on the basis of BIM model.This paper from the application perspective,analyzes the way of carrying 4D and 5D project data,and selects the BIM project database external program through the comparative analysis of advantages and disadvantages between the BIM project database external program and the BIM project database built-in scheme.At the same time,in the consideration some principles of database design such as avoiding redundancy,simplicity,designing the data table and field of BIM external project database to ensure the BIM project database data is meeting the needs.In addition,aiming at the problem in the industry that engineering cost data lacks of effective accumulation,this paper puts forward the evolution mechanism of the engineering cost database.Combined with the demand of engineering cost database,designs the data table and field of engineering cost database.The relationship between the BIM 3D model database,BIM external project database and the project cost database in the design of the scheme is also discussed.At the same time,aiming at the unconnected problems between project management data structures and data structure provided by BIM technology,puts forward the solution of using BIM technology in project management,and develops the BIM-Project-Linker application program(abbreviation:BPLinker)by using Revit software.The main functions of BPLinker include that: the component information reading automatically identify the matching according to the resources of the task unit,fuzzy query,two-way accumulation of the engineering cost data,one-touch output of BIM project database information to MS Project and so on.BPLinker aims to promote the implementation of BIM technology in our country,so that BIM technology can be used in project management.Finally,combined with the case,this paper presents the interface and function of the BPLinker,and then illustrates the implementation of the application program.
