Study And Application On Intensive Design Of International School In Metropolis

This thesis is aimed to figure out the actual problem in the designing practice of Shenzhen College of International Education(SCIE).The point and development history of the international schools and the education modes of modern schools over the world are to be studied.The theory and methods of intensive design on schools in metropolis are summed up.The design methods and modes of playground with three-dimensional design and communication are the focus in the thesis.Besides,the architecture design should reflect the idea of international education and create a campus with various space and high quality as much as possible.Metropolis is usually a huge city as a political center,economic center and cultural center in a district.There are also more chance to international communication and the first group of international schools were established here.Metropolis tends to have greater agglomeration and the higher building density than ordinary cities.The residents in metropolis also have a more open vision,superior economic conditions and advanced thoughts on education.More avant-garde design thoughts and more practice of the project also tends to be realized here.With the economic and social development and lack of urban land supply,projects on schools with high density gradually increased.Varieties of playground with three-dimensional design appeared under the demand.Efficient and intensive playgrounds are created with a compact and various space.Public space is designed for communication between students and teachers.It embodies overall planning of the campus in macroscopic,combination and layout of teaching space in the medium and various classroom forms and furniture layout in microscopic and other aspects.The veranda and the atrium is important to highlight the space.Compared with the ordinary middle schools,international schools pay more attention to provide more flexible and abundant architectural space and comfortable,active campus environment,in order to adapt to a variety of curriculum and activities,full exchange of learning,global perspective,international education ideas and so on.SCIE project is faced with a shortage of land,huge difference of the base elevation and tropical climate,which are also practical constraints.My own exploration and innovation need to combine with relevant design strategy.Some new ideas and new phenomena,such as break of traditional red line and sharing gymnasium and other facilities on campus with community,are popular in recent years and should be considered in design.Aerial forms,various space could promote activities and exchanges on campus and are useful for ecological strategy as an active response to tropical climate.They might also contribute a comfortable environment for students to learn,live and grow.
