In the 1980 s,international schools appeared in our field of vision in the way of children of foreign nationals, and subsequently passed the national recognition. With the promulgation of relevant regulations, the development of international schools in China has a clear direction..It not only provides a good educational environment for the children of foreigners, but also serves as an effective channel for domestic students to go abroad for education.Under the urging of “study abroad”,international schools have developed from first-tier cities to second-and third-tier cities.By 2017,734 international schools have been established in China.Nowadays, international schools have ushered in a development boom in China. On the one hand, advanced educational concepts affect China's education system, and on the other hand, changes in educational concepts will inevitably bring about corresponding problems. With the rapid development of China's economy and the increasing number of foreign students, the country has undergone a large-scale quality education reform. In order to introduce Western advanced educational concepts into China, and integrate open education methods with China's educational concepts,we should actively pay attention to the architectural design methods and practices of international schools based on the need to optimize and improve the teaching space in primary and secondary schools in China. And in-depth study of the improvement of educational concepts and the strengths and weaknesses of Western-style education. The purpose of this paper is to construct a localized architectural design method for international schools, and to summarize the rational process of international school architectural design,so that international schools can develop healthily in China. This paper takes Maple Leaf International School as the research object.Firstly,it uses the method of field investigation to analyze the status quo of the school's construction land, campus space, transportation system and teaching building scene, and also analyzes the behavior and psychology of international schools.Analyze the demand and study the design method of the international school building space from multiple perspectives.By comparing the differences between the domestic primary and secondary schools and Maple Leaf International School in the overall layout of campus space, teaching mode, teaching space requirements, functional division, etc.,summed up the design features of the international school teaching space,as well as the domestic ordinary primary and secondary schools in campus space. The shortcomings in the design provide feasible suggestions for the design of architectural space in ordinary primary and secondary schools. Finally,an example analysis of the overall design of the space of Maple Leaf International School is carried out,and the planning principles, functional division, safety performance and landscape characteristics of the design scheme are analyzed, and the problems of design are put forward to further explore the development of international schools in China.Advantages and Disadvantages, discovering the general rules of open teaching space design, summarizing and summarizing the basic principles of architectural design in international schools. The design can not only integrate into the local characteristics but also combine the advanced western school-running mode to realize the "Chinese-Western combination" of architecture and teaching, which has both international image and local characteristics. Finally,I hope that through the research of this article,it will provide theoretical basis and practical basis for the future architectural design of international schools.
